My Favorite Car(s)

It's a typical day, you wake up, eat your breakfast, and set off to work in your car. As you drive by a mall, you suddenly see five streaks of beautiful colors zoom by, and then they're gone. These are called the world's fastest road-legal cars, "Supercars". Here are some of my favorites.

First up, it's the Enzo Ferrari. As you know, Ferrari has been the world's most common supercar manufacturer in the world. But it's most thrilling ride yet is the Enzo, a 300 km/h beast. With 3 choices of black, yellow and red paint, the Enzo should give you a feeling that it can actually time travel. Too bad they're all sold out.

Next, it's the Bugatti Veyron. This supercar's extremely sleek style and accurate building made it tangible to set a world record, and it did. It was found in the Guinness Book of World Records, beating the former car by several milliseconds. But I won't dig up $6,000,000 HK from my bank account to buy that.

Third in line is the Lamborghini Reventon. Only 20 are being sold, and 20 have already been bought. This baby is the latest Lamborghini creation, and the best. The Reventon is very similar to the Enzo Ferrari, but it has the looks that tells you, "I'm going to be the supercar of the future". It's beautiful LED brake lights tells the same story.

Fourth comes the Audi RS8. This car is the latest supercar in the market, and with the most technology packed into it. With the hood covering the headlights, this vehicle looks sly and sneaky. This car is also the first Audi road car to have its engine in the back!

I'm sorry, but please forget about everything I have just said from the above. Those are not my favorite supercars. I have only one favorite, and that goes to the Aston Martin DBS.

The DBS is the newest Aston Martin around, and basically a major upgrade from its predecessor, the DB9. With a larger engine with more torque and power, it gives it the opportunity to break speed limits with ease. A crystal starter button and its "SAWEET" looks makes it look fit for the rich and famous. A lower ground clearance is the answer of more speed. All of this makes the Aston Martin DBS my favorite car, and the best supercar in the world.

Apple vs. Microsoft (MY WAY)

Apple and Microsoft have been competing for years, each one creating newer and better products. But who is the best of the best?

First, let's start with Apple. Music has been this company's favorite subject since the iPod was invented, and they have never stopped building other devices. Now they have computers, phones, and lots of accessories. A positive way to look at the would be that every product they sell have a three - year warranty, if you pay extra, that is. Their invention of the iPhone was superior against others when you can do almost anything with it. But the best part of the Apple computers are that they have the ability to run Microsoft Windows. Plus, you can run Windows and Mac OS X at the same time! Except there are problems with all this technology. Battery life of portable products (Macbooks, iPods, iPhones) are too short, although Apple claims that they do have a long battery life. Listening to music, watching movies, and surfing the web is always a plus on the techonological person's chart. But if you do this too long on your Mac, it will eventually overheat, so you will have to let it rest. Another problem with Apple is that it's latest laptop, the Macbook Air, only has one USB insert. So if you want to plug in a thumb - drive and your iPod at the same time, you'll have a slight problem. You will also need to know that wordpads are not compatible with the Apple software or the Apple computers.

Next, there's Microsoft. Microsoft has been the world's most popular technology company in the world for decades, since 1975. Selling millions of computer programs and gaming programs for Xbox and PlayStation, it has been famous worldwide. Microsoft has had an extra one year of experience than Macintosh, approximately thirty - four years. Their Windows software is totally compatible with almost every computer on sale, and it works with any type of plug - in. If you buy a computer with Windows installed into it, Microsoft Office comes with the package, free. Windows is extremely reliable and simple to use. It's also safe if you install an additional anti - virus software. But turn the camera around a bit and look at it from another perspective. Crashes aren't rare in this case. Because more than half of the world uses Windows, professional hackers set their viruses to go into the Windows software. Better get an anti - virus software if you have a Windows software.

There's not much difference between these two companies, since they both are at the same standards. Apple with it's iPods and iPhones, Microsoft and it's softwares for computers and gaming consoles. Both are masterminds that keep creating new things to help us. But they are both tied for the best in the technological universe.

Apple vs. Microsoft

In recent years it has been difficult to not see the growing competition between Apple and Microsoft. Microsoft, the traditional software giant, has slowly been losing ground to a series of more streamlined and efficient Apple products. 

Apple products are simple to use and high-tech. The programs are not intuitive, but once the user understands the Apple interface, he can use any of the other software. Apple has also set the standard for new inventions by coming out with products like the iPod and iPhone. These have changed how people entertain themselves and how they talk to others.

Microsoft products, however, still hold the largest share in the market. The Windows Operating System has been in common use for two decades and the majority of people learned how to use computers on Windows software. As a result, Apple software seems confusing to them. Microsoft has also responded well to competition from Apple and is now striving to re-invent their image.

In the end, it doesn't matter which company is better or makes more money. It's just important that there are two companies because it makes sure that they work harder and are thinking of new stuff.

Comparing Opposing Viewpoints on Global Warming

In the first article I read, the author tried to prove that global warming exists. He stated that before the Industrial Revolution, the amount of carbon dioxide in the air was approximately 280 PPM (particles per mile). After the Industrial Revolution, this number was raised to 375 PPM, nearly a 30% increase. He suggested that this is due to global warming.

The second article, Climate Change Chicanery, by Christopher Booker, suggested that global warming is just a fraud. The author said that in 1893 a Norwegian explorer tried traveling to the pole, but ended up at 82 degrees north. Recently, another explorer tried to go to the pole but turned back at 80.5 degrees north, proving that the ice cap has expanded more than 100 miles. He also stated that an Indian scientist suggesting that everybody should turn into a vegetarian, because the methane that we produce from eating meat products will affect the atmosphere. He also talked about NASA’s satellites recording temperatures dropping in some regions.

In my opinion, I think that global warming is a very serious thing. According to these articles, the climate is changing wildly. Because of this phenomenon, seasons will be distorted, such as flowers blooming in the winter, snow falling in the summer, and a -20 degrees Celsius day in the spring. Both of these articles are true, because global warming also includes unstable climates, so places will get hot and cold very quickly.
